Welcome  to the Royal Bighorn Lodge. September is here and the weather has been cool, 50's and 60's. The cooler weather has slowed the black caddis and the pale olives have been coming off strong. The high water has also given us high water temperatures, 3 mile is 62 degrees in the mornings. It seems the high temperatures and sunshine have really helped the grass growth this season. Most of the flats have filled in with grass and slowed the normal runs. If you are thinking of coming to the Bighorn be prepared for what I consider tough fishing conditions. As the sun comes out this week the water temperatures should get as high as 65 degrees.
